In Their Own Words

SR

Sunee Rojanakulpong

Bangkok · Settling In

"I had been putting off thinking about money for years. Something about the way the first session was structured made it feel manageable — like we were just having a conversation, not sitting through a lesson. I came home with a clearer head than I expected."

Phisit Pornsilp

Nonthaburi · The Quiet Evening

"The planning notebook was more useful than I anticipated. I am not naturally an organised person but having a structured place to put my notes made it easier to actually use what I was learning between sessions. I would have liked one more session at the end, but overall it was well worth it."

Nattharee Kaweesakulchai

Bangkok · The Long Twilight

"I am fifty-three and had genuinely never sat down to think about what retirement might mean for me financially. This programme gave me a framework to do that without it feeling overwhelming. The emphasis on speaking with a licensed adviser was something I appreciated — they were clear about what the course could and could not do."

Samut Prakan · Settling In

"Short and practical. I am not someone who reads books about finance but having the concepts explained out loud by someone who was patient and did not make me feel stupid was a different experience. I understood more in three sessions than I had picked up in years of trying to follow things on my own."

Bangkok · The Quiet Evening

"What I valued most was that there was no product being sold. I had joined financial workshops before where the whole thing turned out to be an advertisement. Here the facilitator was just focused on explaining things. That made it much easier to trust the information."

Manee Lertprasert

Pathum Thani · The Long Twilight

"Ten weeks sounds long, but I never found sessions felt like a burden. The personal planning folder we built up over the programme is something I actually refer to. The closing session where we reviewed everything together was a thoughtful way to finish. I left feeling like I had a direction, even if I still have a lot to figure out."

A Closer Look at Three Experiences

BS

Boonmee Saengtawee, 47 — Settling In

Completed May 2025

THE SITUATION

Boonmee had a stable income from his small business but had never built a clear picture of his monthly spending. He described not knowing where his money went at the end of each month as "the main thing keeping me up at night."

WHAT THE COURSE OFFERED

Over three sessions, Boonmee worked through a simple income-and-outgoings exercise and mapped his existing bank accounts. The facilitator explained fixed deposits in detail and answered specific questions about a savings account he already held.

WHAT CHANGED

By the end of the course, Boonmee had a written monthly budget for the first time. He moved part of his savings into a fixed-term deposit. He described the experience as "less dramatic than I expected, which was exactly what I needed."

"The biggest thing was realising the steps were smaller than I thought. I had made it into something bigger in my head."

PS

Patcharee Suwanphong, 52 — The Long Twilight Programme

Completed April 2025

THE SITUATION

Patcharee was approaching early retirement and had several savings accounts across different banks, but no coherent picture of how they connected to her retirement plans. She wanted to understand the Social Security Fund she had been contributing to for over twenty years.

WHAT THE COURSE OFFERED

Over ten weeks, Patcharee built a personal planning folder covering her savings, a summary of SSF benefits, and a healthcare cost projection exercise. The facilitator was direct about what the course could explain and what would require a licensed adviser.

WHAT CHANGED

Patcharee came away with a consolidated view of her financial position and a list of specific questions to bring to a licensed financial planner — which she did within a month of completing the course.

"I had the meeting with my financial adviser prepared. I knew what questions to ask and why they mattered. That felt very different from walking in knowing nothing."
